Today – the 8th of March – sees the celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) across the globe.

This year’s theme of IWD is Each for Equal, which calls on all genders to band together in the name of equality.

At EyrePlus, we are recognising and celebrating the achievements of the women in our community while reflecting on how far we have to go to achieve true gender balance.

As part of our reflection on International Women’s Day for 2020, the EyrePlus team came together to discuss the importance of gender equality, and how our organisation has worked closely with women in our community to step out of their comfort zones to pursue their career goals, including:

Joanne – who took a path of self-discovery that led her to mentoring other Community Development Program participants

Kris – a woman with a passion for helping others through driving volunteer ambulances

Kieyah – a young woman whose positive work ethic led her to work with the Ceduna Aboriginal Corporation.

Our services for the Community Development Program works to help people –no matter their gender – into work-like activities that often lead to meaningful employment within their communities.

As a supporter of International Women’s Day, we are proud to share that EyrePlus is working hard to ensure a gender-balanced world.
