EyrePlus recently held a one-day training event in Ceduna to help the community’s up-and-coming business owners improve their bookkeeping and accounting management. This event was organised in collaboration with the Adelaide Business Hub, through the South Australian Government’s Office for Small and Family Business program.

‘Learning the Basics of Xero’ is a workshop that teaches small business owners how to use Xero, an online bookkeeping and accounting software platform. The instructor for the day was Xero expert Samantha Docking from Business Office Support Services (BOSS), who uses her expertise in business and knowledge of the local area to support small business owners in improving their accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.

On Tuesday March 5th, five Ceduna-based business owners gathered at Ceduna Foreshore Hotel, along with Samantha and EyrePlus team members, for a day of insightful, practical learning. Samantha covered three main focus areas with her training, including:

  • Understanding the benefits of using Xero as a small business,
  • Building familiarity with the key functions and features of Xero, and
  • Improving invoice and cash flow management with Xero.

Participants in the workshop learned the key skills to incorporate Xero through practical information, take-home templates, and the offer of one-on-one mentoring sessions with Samantha after the workshop. This allowed participants the freedom to learn at their own pace, reflect on the knowledge they had been given, and reach out to their trainer with any additional questions.

We’d like to give a big thank you to Samantha for leading the Xero workshop, Adelaide Business Hub for helping us organise this event, and our EyrePlus team for their assistance on the day. Participants left with the foundations to set their businesses up for success. EyrePlus looks forward to witnessing their growth with the addition of newfound accounting skills.
