In July, Ceduna held its third annual Yabaardu Festival to celebrate the culture and talents of First Nations communities, with EyrePlus returning as a major sponsor.

On Friday, July 19, Ceduna locals and visitors gathered at the Far West Aboriginal Sporting Complex to enjoy an action-packed, free event, with thousands in attendance. Making an early start to escape the wild weather on the day, the festival provided a hub for the community to enjoy live music, rides, community stands, food vendors, and kids’ entertainment.

Yabaardu Festival curated an impressive lineup of First Nations musicians to perform, with artists in attendance including: Barkaa, Kobie Dee, Iwantja, Warren Milera, A.Ware & Jusst, Shaun Miller, DJ Angel, DJ Sarz and DJ Pheonixx, with Dan Sultan headlining the festival.

This music festival brings together the community of Ceduna, the Eyre Peninsula and the Far West Region, with the word ‘Yabaardu’ coming from Wirangu language translating to ‘together’ or ‘everyone’. In its third year of operation, Yabaardu Festival has once again brought together the expertise of South Australian locals wanting to celebrate First Nations culture and support the opportunities that community connection brings.

In our daily operations, and through key opportunities such as Yabaardu Festival, EyrePlus and our dedicated staff pledge their support to the continuation of First Nations cultures and the development of opportunities available to them.

EyrePlus was proud to be the official major sponsor of the festival this year, that continues to get bigger and better. We look forward to seeing what the next one brings!
