Providing local pathways for budding Rangers through community collaboration
NEWSCDP Providing local pathways for budding Rangers through community collaboration
We’ve recently been busy creating new and exciting job opportunities for our participants, thanks to the 1000 Jobs Package, which aims to increase employment opportunities in remote Australia through the Community Development Program (CDP).
Teaming up with our friends at Far West Coast Aboriginal Corporation, we’ve proudly created Ranger positions for several of our deserving participants. Including these two happy EyrePlus Rangers, Jayziya and Tye.
They recently went on country to the Koonalda area. While in Koonalda, our participants were hard at work installing roadside bollards, park benches and seats at Koonalda Caves.
For many of our Rangers, this was their first trip with the program, and what a way to start! Speaking to Ranger Co-Ordinator Dale Furley, he said: “They did very well, and got more completed and finished the job earlier than expected. I’m very happy with the work they are completing!”
CDP is an Employment program for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in regional, rural and remote Australia to achieve sustainable employment outcomes by strengthening skills, addressing barriers and contributing to their communities through a range of flexible work-like activities.
